Role Responsibility:

Optimise fleet resources to ensure branch is operating within required processes and vehicle availability is optimised at all times. Comply with G4S operational and administrative procedures within defined guidelines.  Analyse and recommend training for departmental staff and monitor its effectiveness in the workplace.

•    To ensure strict compliance with all aspects of Operator’s licensing, including Drivers Hours, Working Time Directive and Vehicle Maintenance.

•    Work with the Branch General Manager to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and manage change where necessary. Monitor and report failings and as requested, taking corrective action where necessary.

•    To manage and have cost effective control of a section of the Branch Fleet Management Department.

•    Manage and monitor the departmental budget, ensuring tight cost control, reporting on variances and implementing appropriate recovery actions, where necessary.

•    To maintain a close working relationship with maintenance providers to ensure defects are repaired in a timely manner and vehicles are maintained in a safe, fit and serviceable condition.

•    Liaise with internal customers and other Company managers and staff concerning day to day operational activities of the Branch Fleet Department, optimising vehicle availability and utilisation.

•    Self starter / Highly motivated
•    Ability to work on own initiative
•    Analytical
•    Flexible approach to hours of working
•    Can work independently but also as part of a wider team
•    Educated to degree level or eqv
•    CPC Qualification
•    Good understanding of the Logistics or Transport industry
•    Has a good working understanding of the ATM/Cash In Transit Operation
•    Experience of fleet maintenance/engineering contracts
