Job Introduction:

We are actively seeking to recruit a Soft Service Lead for our large critical infrastructure client in Somerset. They will assist the Head of Soft Services in taking full responsibility for the delivery of Housekeeping services.

This is a permanent role working on a full time basis, Monday to Friday, however may require weekend and evening work if the needs of the business dictate.

  • We serve FM in Hospitals and Secure establishments

  • We provide FM services to Health and School buildings

Role Responsibility:

The Soft Service Lead works closely with our Head of Soft Services, supporting our client at this, the largest construction site in Europe. This role is varied and no two days are the same, with a strong, crucial focus on health and safety at the heart of everything we do.

The successful candidate will be expected;

  • To develop, improve and maintain an exceptionally strong working relationship with client contacts, subcontractors, suppliers and G4S staff

  • To manage and allocate resources to meet daily delivery schedules and business requirements for these services within the prescribed budget

  • To work closely with the client, offering and sharing advice & knowledge, taking a joined up approach in relation to FM service delivery

  • To lead and develop a multi skilled team to meet both the client and operational demands.

  • To ensure that robust procedures and processes are in place and adhered to in order to maintain staffing levels appropriate to contractual requirements.

  • To assist the Head of Soft Services in managing the departmental budget and the collating of monthly and annual reports for ultimate submission to the client outlining; activities, achievements and general operational performance for the reporting period

  • To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at work act

  • To comply with all G4S & Hinkley Point C policies and process as required

  • To assist with the mobilisation of new services

  • To coach and develop the housekeeping team of days and night supervisors (direct reports)

  • To co ordinate the services of sub cintractors, and to monitor the service delivery and effectiveness.

  • Any other duties as reasonably requested.

The Ideal Candidate:

With excellent attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills, the Soft Services Lead must also have good communication skills and the ability to manage and organise their team as well as ensuring that good customer relationships are maintained. It would be advantageous to have previous FM experience, but the ideal candidate will have;

  • The ability to develop a quick and in-depth understanding of the contract requirements and obligations relating to the relevant service lines and their KPIs
  • The ability to allocate & monitor workloads according to the contract demands

  • Good people management skills and experience in managing a team - they will manage a large team, mainly comprised of Housekeeping staff but they will also have working relationships with many third party suppliers

  • Excellent IT skills and a working knowledge of corporate systems

  • Significant experience of leading and developing a team, with a view to the longer term tenure of this contract
