We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Tower Hamlets Schools contract in East London.

  • We run large TFM contracts

  • We serve FM in Hospitals and Secure establishments

  • We provide FM services to Health and School buildings

The PFI Division has six contracts, of which Tower Hamlets Schools is one. We provide a range of Facilities Management Services to  substantial number of Schools across the Borough of Tower Hamlets.

We cover;

  • Hard FM (Planned preventative and reactive maintenance),

  • Cleaning,

  • Helpdesk services,

  • Premises Management including daily opening and closing of the schools,

  • Pest control,

  • Security and grounds maintenance.

  • G4S also provide full Life Cycle on fabric and hard FM assets.  

The operational office is based at Trinity Buoy Wharf in East London where the contract shares the offices with another G4S PFI contract, LiftCo that delivers hard services to a number of health buildings. And our Greenwich schools contract.

Role Responsibility:

Across our number of schools the Project Manager will deliver the Life Cycle, variable Projects and ACR (Authority Change Requests) Variation Works programme and lead and manage the individual CBU (cost build up) process supply chain. They’ll have a large budgetary responsibility. Individual projects vary from £5k upwards. They’ll work closely with our Customer, Client, Engineering team and Life Cycle team.

They will;

  • Establish and coordinate the supply chain so that they work together effectively,

  • Track the forecast and priority of works and the team capacity in order to meet business critical requirements

  • Prepare and distribute all necessary reports and documentation in a timely and professional manner to relevant stakeholders to enable monitoring, control and communication

  • Plan, co-ordinate and manage Major Project Works requested by various client stakeholders.

  • Ensure control of cost, quality and time, therefore incorporate and demonstrate good planning/programming skills.

  • Liaise with Clients and their senior team offering technical advice and knowledge regarding Construction Works issues

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Project Management of multi trades, client and suppliers

  • Experience of site works monitoring with installation inspections & measurement.

  • CDM experience

  • Understanding of model contract forms: JCT, NEC, GC Works etc.

  • Budget management experience and commercial awareness.

  • Experience of managing Client facing Project Works services across a diverse multi-site TFM portfolio.

  • IOSH Certification.

  • Experience of leading in H&S and welfare for own project works and those of others

  • Well-developed communication, influencing and motivational skills

  • Cost management and control, and quality monitoring

  • Should be prepared for UK&I travel related to the job.
