Role Responsibility:

G4S Cash Solutions (UK) Ltd is committed to developing new and updated capabilities, and continually improving the effectiveness and efficiency of its operations.

The main purpose of the job is to drive a professional approach to project management, and to provide statutory compliance conformity. Also to assist with construction and M&E repairs and maintenance activities by:  

  • Delivering a programme of small and medium sized projects in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Demonstrating best practice in the delivery of projects in order that those practices become uniform across the business.
  • Ensuring project programmes are delivered with a professional approach, adherence with method and the realisation of stated business and customer benefits.
  • Ensuring all work activity complies to CDM 2015 Regulations and other statutory/mandatory regulations.
  • Support the Property Manager in the day to day running of the Cash site network.
  • Assist with the compilation of yearly Property budgets and specifications.
  • Work as part of a small matrixed project team to successfully deliver.
  • Create and maintain a team focus on delivering targeted value from project investments.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with senior management at Branch, Head of Department, and Director level
  • Provide project management assistance on Capital works projects.
  • Prepare and agree resourcing levels with the Project Sponsor and key supply stakeholders.
  • Provide Technical assistance in all reactive maintenance work to include the development and management of all associated site documentation from Specialist Contractors.
  • Assist with the coordination of reactive maintenance visits from National suppliers and contractors to ensure internal customer’s premises are fully maintained.
  • Possess a good understanding of maintenance contracts and compliance issues.
  • Maintain a customer focussed approach with a proactive view towards introducing new processes and making continuous improvements to service delivery.
  • Have a full understanding of electrical and mechanical plant equipment including, air conditioning, boilers, heating systems, water systems, generators and UPS.
  • Able to produce budgets, condition reports and schedules using Microsoft applications to fully support the Property Manager and associated team, in the maintenance and repair to the G4S property portfolio.
  • Maximises internal and external networks to influence and support the delivery of projects.
  • Gains trust and respect of own team, colleagues and stakeholders within own area and wider business.
  • Make regular site visits/inspections to branches when required.
  • Offer assistance to branch management in producing cost data for capital submissions with full justification.
  • Any other reasonable request made by the Property Manager within the property environment
  • To coordinate, through direct and indirect labour the process of reactive and planned repairs and maintenance operations across the property portfolio.
  • Hold solid relationships and contacts with a number of contractors and specialists in the property industry, fully able to offer support and coverage when required to G4S Cash Solutions.
  • To manage minor works alterations and small to medium sized project works as directed.
  • Use established change management methodologies to control, manage and monitor project timescales, budgets and dependencies.
  • Deal with technical issues surrounding the mechanical and electrical plant contained within Cash Solutions buildings.
  • Have a proven track record in a mechanical, electrical and/or plant related position of management with a good understanding of legal and statutory legislation affecting the property industry.
  • Assist in the control of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for the property portfolio demonstrating a good understanding of rates concerning principle work items.
  • Fully programme with associated team members, projects effecting building systems and working areas. i.e. power downs, branch closures, essential maintenance & reactive works.
  • Provide out of hours assistance to buildings security/operations in extreme situations under contingency planning.
  • Continuously monitor projects and repairs and maintenance activity for risks, issues and regulatory compliance and take appropriate steps to address or mitigate such issues or risks.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is achieved in the delivery of this service.
  • Be fully reliable with a professional outlook in supporting the Property team and the G4S Cash business.
  • This role profile will be subject to change in accordance with departmental developments and the job holder’s expertise.


The Ideal Candidate:


  • Knowledge of Property Management procedures.
  • Knowledge of contractors and the management of service contracts.
  • Planning and organisation with good IT skills.
  • Customer Focussed.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A history of work/management within the specialist property industry dealing with electrical and mechanical installations.
  • Understanding the importance of the job role within G4S Cash Solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be self motivated, determined and able to work under own initiative
  • Able to accommodate UK based travel and overnight stays
  • Ability to use AUTO CAD and Microsoft Project.
  • Good understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations, and of statutory and mandatory H&S Regulations.
  • Good understanding of JCT suite of contracts.
  • Clean Driving License.
