Job Introduction:

We are actively recruiting for an Internal Communications Officer to support the Internal Communications team based in Sutton, Surrey, reporting directly to the Group Head of Internal Communications. The purpose of the role is to manage specific communications activities including internal communication campaigns, global content management, intranet and channel development - ensuring that the G4S brand, reputation and messaging is represented appropriately at all times.

Role Responsibility:

Reporting to the Group Head of Internal Communications your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising internal communications channels to publish and distribute timely and accurate communications to key internal audiences
  • Creating a highly engaging content plan for both the global and UK&I intranet homepages
  • Working with the Digital Communications Executive to research, recommend and develop alternative delivery channels
  • Planning and delivering internal events targeted at key internal audience groups
  • Providing communications support to key Group and UK departments in line with strategic objectives
  • Creating, managing and maintaining specific campaigns to promote the company values across the Group
  • Being a member of the editorial committee, bringing interesting UK stories to the table as well as planning how global stories are shared.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience within an integrated communications role
  • Experience of creating and delivering communications plans and managing content workflow
  • Proven strong writing and editing skills
  • Event planning/project management experience
  • Strong technical proficiency, especially relating to the use of email software packages, content management systems, media libraries, WordPress. Knowledge of Google for Work advantageous.
  • Social media savvy and good understanding of digital communication channels
  • Excellent attention to detail and a good eye for design
  • The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders
