We are actively recruiting for an Internal Auditor to be based in either Sutton, Surrey or London Victoria with frequent travel around UK&I.

Role Responsibility:

Reporting to the Regional Audit Manager UK&I the main purpose of this role is to ensure that an efficient, effective and proactive audit service is provided across the UK&I region.  The Internal Auditor will ensure that support is provided to deliver relevant and agreed actions and will coach and guide management. The position will involve up to 65% travel mainly in UK&I but also in Europe if assisting in that region.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the Regional Audit Manager to ensure key findings are discussed and agreed at regional as well as country level
  • Providing support and guidance to regional team on matters that arise
  • Following up on agreed actions to continue to support and aid local management to implement agreed actions efficiently and timely
  • Assisting the Regional Audit Manager to develop an annual audit plan to be presented to executive management and the Audit Committee
  • Developing an expertise in the businesses’ risks, systems and procedures so that consequences of shortcomings are clearly accessed and communicated
  • Developing or tailoring detailed audit/risk plans and programmes for each audit
  • Complying with the team’s standards and work practices showing excellent ethical and professional attributes at all times.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will hold a professional accounting/finance degree or qualification and/or be a qualified internal auditor. Excellent report writing skills and total fluency, both spoken and written in English is essential.

To be able to complete this role successfully the job holder must have and be able to demonstrate

  • A proactive and open approach with excellent communication skills
  • Strong self-motivation, capacity to work under own initiative and also be a good team player
  • Influencing and relationship building skills at all levels and across varied geographical locations and cultures.
  • Hands on approach with the capacity to complete and document detailed work against tight timeframes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the review and understanding of complex systems and processes
  • Sound financial skills and knowledge, with the ability to conduct  thorough and accurate analysis and review of individual company processes
  • A good understanding of IT
  • Sound judgment in assessing risks and controls and identifying control weaknesses and exceptions
  • A commercial viewpoint in providing value adding recommendations and advice to the businesses
  • A commitment and a flexibility to travel
  • Honesty and integrity at all times, complying with all relevant professional and business ethical standards 
  • Willingness to support business in risk awareness and policy compliance thru providing training or consultation work
