Job Introduction:

Reporting to the Senior IT Field Engineer, you will support the business and minimize user downtime and issues by being responsible for the day to day technical and support needs of the business, through direct support and management of 3rd party suppliers.

Role Responsibility:

  • Provide first-line support to users of G4S supported applications
  • Provide second-line support to users of 3rd party supported applications
  • Perform general application systems administration for G4S supported applications
  • Liaise with users to understand, document and manage their requirements and issues to resolution
  • Carry out weekly Branch Visits to support the above.
  • Work with IT Development Team to SAT new IT solutions
  • Provide technical IT support and guidance to the Projects Team
  • Provide data extracts to the business to support sales and tender documentation
  • Manage IT DR and BCP processes
  • Manage and host internal IT Forums
  • Identify new and appropriate technologies to support G4S
  • Manage branch setup and moves
  • Build, support and administration of Mobile devices across the business.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential

  • Mobile Operating Systems experience
  • Android experience
  • Mobile Device Manager experience
  • Must be working towards, or hold a HND in an IT related subject, or MCP, or equivalent working experience within a support environment
  • Experience working in a project based environment.
  • Good communication and planning skills
  • HP, Dell, Laptop and computers troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience supporting Windows XP, and Windows 7.
  • Experience of Enterprise Antivirus server/client systems
  • Network printers and print servers
  • Able to support Microsoft Office 2003 – 2010
  • Experience with Remote access using RDP, and remote assistance to help remote users
  • Understanding of citrix using published applications
  • Active directory experience and understanding
  • Understanding of NTFS Permissions
  • General understanding of TCP/IP Networks

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of server operating systems 2003 – 2012
  • HP, Dell, Server hardware experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining server operating systems 2003 – 2012
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience
  • Understanding of SQL language, and queries
  • Understanding of Virtual infrastructures, and VDI
  • Knowledge / experience of Blackberry devices in an enterprise environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of ITIL best practises
