Job Introduction:

  • Lead the global procurement P2P project initially in the UK&I region and then progressively through the global roll out as the Business Process Owner.
  • Lead and manage the other Procurement tools required from selection to implementation and on-going operations of the various platforms e.g. Spend Analysis Reporting, Saving & Benefits Tracking Reporting.
  • Create and manage programme reporting including presentations to management sponsors.  
  • Combine cross-functional teams, supplier relationships, technology and organisational capabilities into successful programmes.
  • Identify and facilitate training opportunities of Procurement personnel in Procurement Excellence, Procurement systems, and specific spend categories either directly or by engaging suitable third party specialists.  
  • Develop solutions that will enable the active monitoring & tracking of compliance to major deals, highlighting risks to benefits to all regions.

Role Responsibility:

  • Capture Procurement lead team actions and ensure team delivery in-line with agreed actions. 
  • Run Procurement lead team meetings and quarterly benefits tracking meeting. Drafting agenda and action capture.
  • Manage procurement team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of saving project, in-line with the SOP benefits reporting.
  • Act as PMO lead for Procurement reporting and project updates, supporting Group Procurement Directors in delivering Function communications.
  • Provide the Group Procurement Directors, monthly updates on savings projects flag on the benefits tracker.
  • Develop and implement the Procurement Technology Strategy around productivity tools and P2P workflows, ensuring it is aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Procurement Policy and Procedures, ensuring they are aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Develop and implement the Procurement governance, management information, data analysis and reporting work streams, ensuring they are aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Support all business regions to fully optimise their procurement leverage through structured supplier rationalisation and consolidation programmes for both goods and services via providing suitable reporting and robust data analysis.
  • Facilitate the implementation of Group wide standardised templates for tender documentation, contractual terms and conditions, and mechanisms to monitor and review supply chain performance.
  • Establish key external market contacts to ensure relevant market intelligence is available to the business and factored into key decision making processes.
  • Provide Procurement expertise in supporting business development activity and service solution design.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to further reduce Procurement costs and improve overall efficiencies & Procurement reporting.
  • Provide leadership and support as required to ensure successful mobilisation of new supply contracts.
  • 1-2 days per week supporting the UK/European/Middle East Procurement team

The Ideal Candidate:

  • ​​​​​Demonstrable experience in a professional purchasing role, preferably within a FTSE 100 company.
  • Experience in development of complex databases for supplier development & measurement, spend and contracts data.
  • Previous experience in managing large outsourced services contracts essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen, advanced knowledge of contract law, good financial management and proven communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Experienced in the set up and utilisation of eProcurement, eAuction and on line Catalogue Ordering Systems, such as Oracle Fusion preferable.
  • Proven excellence in team and people management.
  • Results driven.
  • Able to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proactive management style.
  • Self-starter, able to operate will minimal supervision
  • Team player, able to work across regions and divisions
  • Willing to adopt a flexible approach to the fulfilment of work commitments.
