Job Introduction:

In 2012 G4S and Lincolnshire Police formed a Strategic Partnership and we are now currently looking for individuals who are interested in joining us as a Driver Trainer.

This is a full time position for 40 hours per week. The post is based at Lincolnshire Police Headquarters, Nettleham. The benefits of working from this location include; free car parking and 24 hours use of a free gym. 

The ideal candidate will be required to design, develop and deliver quality learning & development training products to new and existing clients, ensuring that all the relevant learning outcomes are achieved. The successful candidate will maintain exceptional levels of service delivery to all customers and act in accordance with company values statement. The ideal candidate will also maintain occupational competence and comply with national legislation and codes of practice within the remit of driver training.

Role Responsibility:

  • Deliver driver training and delivery and assessment of training in accordance with national, organisational or Force policies relating to the training of police officers and staff in relation to all aspects of driver training.
  • Ensure that learners have the required skills to successfully, safely and effectively perform the duties of their roles through effective assessment of participants during the training process.
  • Review, design and develop training and development products, based on client needs and any local, regional and/or national guidelines and as appropriate.
  • Ensure that training products are designed and delivered in accordance with mandatory/ legal requirements.
  • Support the development of new ways of delivering training to maximise performance and ensure the business demonstrates a continuous learning culture.
  • Achieve and maintain the organisation’s quality audit and performance standards.
  • Act in accordance with security, safety and operational instructions at all times to ensure the maintenance of service delivery.
  • Champion ‘continuous professional development’ by keeping up to date with developments in training by maintaining Approved Driving Instructor status, undertaking and successfully completing Police Driving Instructors courses, reading relevant journals, and attending other relevant development courses.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues internally and externally to maintain high levels of service delivery to all customers and delegates.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Qualified Approved Driving Instructor.
  • Ability to undertake and pass Police Driving Instructors course.
  • Excellent written, oral and inter-personal skills and communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of  Microsoft Office.
  • Pro-active and positive attitude and the ability to work unsupervised using own initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage workload with conflicting priorities.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • Relevant professional training delivery qualification.
  • Training Needs Analysis.
  • Background in Police response driving.
  • Understanding of Police legislative and recommended standards including APP.
  • Motorcycle and van instructor qualifications.
