Job Introduction:

We are actively seeking to recruit a Domestic Supervisor to join our night team on our Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre contract to be based in Oxford.  The hours of work are 40 per week between 2200 - 0600 for which you will receive pay of £9.44 plus an unsocial hours payment.

Role Responsibility:

To oversee and support the Domestic Assistants.  Operational activities will include primarily cleaning wards and departments to an approved standard, and undertake relevant duties in order to ensure G4S contractual service requirements are met.

  •  To oversee the issuing of work to the Domestic Assistants and report back on completion.
  • Ensure correct allocation of equipment and materials as tasks dictate.
  •  Monitor, implement and report if necessary on staff compliance with standards regarding uniform, appearance, behavior and performance.
  •  Monitor and report on service delivery, including audit results and action plans, and liaise with G4S and client staff as necessary regarding service standards.
  • Monitor compliance with service delivery standards in addition to complaints and/or failures and report as necessary
  • To implement action plans following audit findings to rectify any areas of concern and to ensure standards are consistently met in the future
  •  Assistant with induction training in line with company procedures and train new operatives in own area of work
  •  Provide ongoing training for Domestic Assistants to improve or rectify service levels and performance
  • To cover staff absences with the Soft Services Assistant Manager, or by undertaking Domestic Assistant duties personally including meal service in OCE
  • To perform cleaning and domestic duties in all parts of the hospital or outside establishments as required, using appropriate equipment and cleaning products
  • To attend training courses and meetings as required
  •  To deputise for the Assistant Service Support Manager when required

It is essential that the ideal candidate has:

  •  Previous experience as a Domestic Assistant in a healthcare environment
  •  A good understanding of healthcare cleaning standards, for example the importance of colour coding and infection control measures
  •  The ability to observe and audit domestic work
  •  Able to provide objective and constructive feedback to train and support Domestic Assistants.
