As well as security, our team at Hinkley Point C also provides the essential personnel to manage and operate the Delivery Management System (DMS), which is integral to the operation and management of the site logistics framework. 

The primary role of the Delivery Management System (DMS) Coordinator is to provide first line support in the effective management of Freight and Materials being delivered via road and sea to support the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC), including the construction of the Associated Developments related to the HPC Project.

This post will maintain, analyse and report on the DMS using Microsoft office and Google applications in order to produce contractual and evidential performance reports.  Further general administration duties will include, minute taking, booking of meetings and record filing. They will also provide advice and information to the project but notably contractors involved in the delivery process.

Role Responsibility:

  • Maintain a system to approve Delivery Management slots, providing information and advice as requested to ensure enquiries are resolved.
  • Maintain an understanding of the caps on HGV movements set out in planning conditions, ensuring the parameters are adhered to by the delivery management system and contractor deliveries.
  • Identify and report variances and pinch points, escalating to the Materials Management Logistics Lead, to ensure the smooth flow of deliveries in an out of all sites.
  • Maintain and communicate all delivery schedules with a variety of contractor partners. This will include publishing and adapting daily/weekly/monthly schedules.
  • Maintain performance and monitoring data, providing analysis and data manipulation using Microsoft Excel to a high level to inform reports to the project and external stakeholders (under the direction of the Delivery Management Logistics Lead).
  • Develop and maintain lines of communication with contractor Delivery Coordinators
  • Co-ordinate sub contractor’s delivery management requirements within overall project priorities.
  • Attend daily/weekly DMS contractors meetings with an active input using tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Manage the office environment for the DMS team such as records, filing, meeting arranging, minute taking etc. 

The Ideal Candidate:

Skills and Competencies

• Experience of managing a complex database of logistical information, or relevant qualifications to demonstrate capability

• Strong IT skills

• Experience in Microsoft and Google applications.

• Experience of providing first line advice to internal and external customers of the service.

• Construction Site experience preferable 

• Excellent written and oral skills  

• Results Orientated, Team Player, capable of managing emergency issues 

• Ability to work independently and be pro-active

• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills, notably with various levels of the organisation and externally with stakeholders

• Discretion - Confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
