The Group Legal Department is looking for a Commercial Lawyer to provide legal support to Group and Regional Functions. Your main focus will be the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of various types of local and global procurement and other commercial agreements and arrangements.

You will be working with a small team and therefore need to be versatile and willing to provide support to other members of the team when required.

Role Responsibility:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating procurement contracts and other types of commercial agreements on behalf of Group and Regional Functions;
  • Identify and advise on contractual risks;
  • Advise on contractual disputes with third party vendors;
  • Support the development and implementation of best practice procedures;
  • Assist in global restructuring projects; and
  • Provide legal support to Group and Regional Functions by doing research on questions of law, preparing legal documents, negotiating with third parties and consulting and advising colleagues both in the UK and internationally.

The Ideal Candidate:

You will already have a degree/qualification in Law and admitted to practise in your relevant jurisdiction. You will have three to five years relevant PQE with a good commercial law firm, and preferably some in-house experience. You will also have:

  • Knowledge and experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, preferably including procurement contracts.
  • Knowledge and experience in Corporate Law and a good understanding of organisational structures
  • Relevant commercial experience and a good sense for commercial aspects when drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Sufficient fluency in written and spoken English to communicate, draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements;
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders of all levels including international legal teams, third party suppliers and customers;
  • Ability to influence colleagues to achieve objectives; and
  • Ability to disagree and be firm, both internally when needed and externally with third parties and vendors, without falling out or creating a conflict situation.
