Job Introduction:

An opportunity has arisen for aa Account Director in the Operations team, based in the London area. The successful person will manage the current security operation across the Thames Tideway Project theatre of Operations

Role Responsibility:

The Account Director will be responsible for the management of the current security operation across the Thames Tideway Project theatre of Operations, meeting G4S performance standards and client operational requirements. Reporting directly to the G4S Regional Director, and providing operational management to the client.  The Account Director will lead and manage 350+ whilst focusing on future projects and tasks and provides the strategic direction required, including strong, supportive leadership and guidance to the security management team. The Account Director will have P&L responsibility for 6m + per annum contract.  The role encompasses:

  • Operational lead for delivery of services
  • P&L performance of the contract and business development.
  • Liaison with TTW and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure that HS&E is at forefront of delivery
  • Owner of cultural maturity improvement actions
  • Strategic direction of services
  • Ensure standards of service meet or exceed Thames Tideway (TTT) expectations in line with Key Performance Indicators and contractual obligations
  • Support the interface with TTT and develop relationships with TTT Security, Metropolitan Police (MPS), TTT contractors and TTT staff to ensure the customer requirements are fully understood and met
  • Ensure that communication between all elements of the security team and TTT is fully effective
  • Lead the Security Team ensuring they are suitably developed, trained, rehearsed, briefed, ready and available to carry out their roles and responsibilities at all times
  • Ensure a 100% OMS record of all security staff is maintained
  • Seek to enhance service delivery and develop opportunities to add value to the contract
  • Ensure contractual compliance is delivered at all times
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures in place are compliant with legislation, ISO 9002 requirements and that G4S’ own controls (OMS, AIs, Site Security Instructions, Risk Assessments etc.) are in place and up to date
  • Ensure available assets are used to best effect at all times to maximise security provided on site
  • Ensure Terms & Conditions of Employment for security staff reflect local conditions and support labour retention
  • Negotiate all commercial aspects of the contract, renewing or revising as required.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate record of all services through task orders, CONC, ICE and EWN’s. Maintaining Builders Profile record and communicating on the required platforms as directed by the MWC’s such as Asite or Business Communicator.
  • Establish Bronze Command cell if and when an incident occurs and be prepared hand control to the TTT emergency coordinator, Operations Director or whoever and Deputies accordingly

Management Support:

  • Line Management of all Zone Senior Supervisors X3, HSEQ Manager and Security Commercial Manager.
  • Recruitment of suitable staff for new posts and vacancies within department.

This contract includes c200-250 staff employed on shifts providing 24/7 technical and operational support across the project, including perimeter security, Project Command and Control and EPIC (Project ID production and maintenance).

Flexibility is essential as this is a dynamic and rapidly developing/changing project. Engaging services such as Mobile Patrol an response, temporary CCTV, Collaboration with other G4S agencies such as Risk, canine, media, IT, HR, F&SS.  Work with G4S Marketing to support the global/wider business using this project as a flagship example of business excellence.

Key responsiblilites

  • Deputising for the Regional Director 
  • Planning and liaison with the client/customers at the appropriate levels
  • Operational leadership and decision making
  • Responsible for the Project 24/7
  • Monitor quality and production of all incident reporting
  • Work closely with G4S perimeter/access security teams to meet the client’s operational requirement.
  • Compliance with TTT Operational Policy and Protocols
  • Development of 3Ci and Patrols Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures across project
  • Network with industry colleagues, produce best practice recommendations and promote a professional image of all G4S operations
  • Innovation - Manage technology plan
  • Drive change, cost management and profitability - Direct and manage all procurement.
  • Drive and manage all relationships - Chair monthly Governance Board meeting - Chair monthly MWC security meetings - Meet the Client Security Manager monthly.
  • Attend all relevant Alliance an project level meetings ensuring G4S are represented and engaged at all levels.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Requirements

  • Min 8 years experience in a similar role
  • Construction Site Security experience
  • Incident management and leadership experience of working in a high-profile, high-pressure operational environment
  • A good standard of computer literacy (including MS Office applications: Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Full UK driving license and a flexible approach to working patterns and hours
  • DS SIA Licensed-essential
  • 5 years checkable work history
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK/EU
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Preference will be given to candidates who also meet the following:

  • ISOH Qualified-essential (NEBOSH desirable)
  • CSCS-essential, will provide
  • Thames Water passport-essential, will provide
  • Fit to work clearance as per project requirements
  • Drug and alcohol-tested and maintained
  • Knowledge of G4S business process applications (OMS, SigNet, ESS)
