Members of 40 Commando Royal Marines, conduct a patrol in the Mojave Desert. With nearly 1,000 squares miles of barren, sun scorched desert landscape in which to train, Royal Marines launched themselves into Exercise Black Alligator, which was held in the United States of America. Hundreds of Green Berets from 40 Commando Group made the journey across the Atlantic to hone their war fighting skills in California’s Mojave Desert, an area that provides excellent training opportunities the likes of which are not available in the UK.

Armed Forces Volunteer Reserves

G4S recognises the value that serving personnel, Reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business and has pledged its support by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

We employ many veterans throughout our business in the United Kingdom and encourage service in the Volunteer Reserve Forces recognising the contribution that these individuals make.

As part of our commitment to support the Reserve Forces, G4S welcomes applications from Reservists and has attractive support packages encouraging employees to consider becoming a Reservist.

Ashley Almanza, G4S plc CEO has stated, “We are very proud to play our part in supporting Her Majesty’s Armed Forces and we are committed to being the leading employer of Armed Forces Reservists in the country, in support of the Government’s new strategy for introducing additional Reserve forces.

“We already employ large numbers of former service personnel and today’s commitment through the Armed Forces Covenant reinforces the very close relationship that G4S has with the UK Armed Forces.”

The Covenant also confirms G4S’ commitment to support the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), a UK-based resettlement service which aims to provide civilian employment for ex-forces personnel. As part of this pledge, G4S guarantees interviews for ex-forces personnel for appropriate vacancies.

Further guidance and information regarding Reserves can be found at [] and in the FAQs document.
