Prior to joining the company as a Custody Detention Officer (CDO) within the Police Support Services business, David served for 14 years in the Army leaving as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.  Several months after joining an opportunity arose for a Team Leader to supervise 21 CDOs in a new 40 cell custody facility which involved developing a team and service delivery plan.

Promotion to Service Delivery Manager followed with responsibility for five custody suites and over 70 employees.  Whilst in this role he developed new services and managed a six month trial to capture the data of detainees being brought into custody and widen the solution to provide a police transport service.

In August 2008 he was seconded to lead the Police Support Services business.  This challenging role gave him the opportunity to give strategic leadership to all the Police Support contracts, provide tactical advice to the contract managers and ensure Service Delivery was maintained.

David was appointed as Director G4S Police Custody Services in March 2009 and has recently expanded his responsibilities by taking up a secondment to direct the G4S Resourcing Solutions business based in Bromley.

David says: “With hard work as well as learning & development support G4S is an organisation where you can realise your career aspirations.”
